Dell Laptop Battery Not Charging Windows 7. My laptop is not getting on with batteryonly when power cable is plugged in its getting onbut getting message saying plugged in not chargingreplace the battery. This can lead to automatic hibernation of the laptop immediate shutdown at power adapter disconnect etc.
If you pull out your Dell laptop at your local coffee shop and press the power button you expect the screen to light up and to see a login screen. There are some default battery device drivers which are bundles in Windows 7 these drivers try to control the battery charging properly but for some laptops these drivers may not function well. Once the Windows session is restored the battery will start charging.
I just upgraded my laptop today to W10 and now I cant seem to charge my battery anymore there were 0 problems before I upgraded from W8.
I had similar symptoms but in my case it was easily resolved by clicking right on the battery on the taskbar. Boost the contrast on your monitor. I had this same issue on my Acer Aspire ES1-711 laptop with non-removable battery running Windows 8 x64 - system reported battery at 0 plugged in not charging. Dell laptop not charginggetting message plugged in not charging I brought Dell Inspiron 14R laptop 2 years back.
